Abby Brentlinger is an emerging American artist living in Nashville,TN.  The South may be where she lives but Abby’s heart is in the Midwest, often found visiting friends and relatives in Delphos, OH.  At 12 years-old she has already developed a unique drawing style blending elements of pop art and caricatures.

Abby combines her love for art and music in each piece.  In fact, it is the musicians who inspire her to draw.  Their distinctive styles, confident attitudes and how their music sounds and makes her feel.  Abby’s influences range from Andy Warhol and Guy Gilchrist to Mick Jagger and Amy Winehouse.

Her drawings usually start as caricatures and then evolve into her unique brand of pop art. While open to other mediums, Abby currently prefers drawing with regular markers.  “Art supplies don’t have to be fancy or expensive to be good,” explains Abby. “I love my off-brand markers I bought for $2 at the Dollar General.”

Abby not only loves to listen to music, she also plays multiple instruments.  And she plays them all especially well.  “I started taking piano lessons formally when I was 9 and am currently taking guitar and mandolin lessons,” says Abby. “But I’ve been making up songs on my ukulele since I can remember.”

Abby is an avid reader, especially of Steve King books. She maintains exceptional grades at school and loves playing with her very goofy dog, Samuel L. Jackson, aka Sammy.
